The 4 Cs: The Basis of Diamond Valuation
The international basis for diamond valuation is based on the 4 Cs: carat, cut, clarity, and color. These determine a diamond's value, beauty, and rarity.

1. Carat weight (carat)
Carat indicates the weight of a diamond, not its size. One carat equals 0.2 grams.
• Larger diamonds are rarer and generally more expensive.
• But: Size alone does not determine value – brilliance and cut quality are just as important.
• Two diamonds of the same weight may appear different in size due to different proportions.

2. Cut
The cut determines how well a diamond reflects light. A perfectly cut diamond sparkles more intensely, regardless of its carat weight.
• Ratings: Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor
• An ideal cut maximizes light reflection and minimizes dullness.
• Ideal proportions improve symmetry and fire (color reflections).

3. Clarity
Clarity describes the absence of internal inclusions and external impurities. Most diamonds have natural features, but high-quality stones have very few inclusions.
Grades:
o FL (flawless)
o IF (Internally flawless)
o VVS1, VVS2 (very, very small inclusions)
o VS1, VS2 (very small inclusions)
o SI1, SI2 (small inclusions)
o I1, I2 (inclusions clearly visible)
At Labgrownlove we offer diamonds from VS clarity for outstanding brilliance and clarity.

4. Color
• Scale : D (very fine white) to Z (tinted white/yellowish)
• Colorless diamonds (D–F) are particularly rare and sought after.
• Almost colorless stones (G–J) offer excellent value for money.

Diamond cuts: style meets expression
Diamonds come in a variety of shapes, each with its own character and visual impact. Shape is often the first thing that catches the eye.
Popular cuts :
• Brilliant (Round) : Classic, timeless, and maximum sparkle. The most popular engagement cut.
• Oval : Elegant length. Makes fingers appear slimmer.
• Princess : Square with clean lines. Modern and confident.
• Cushion : Square or rectangular with rounded corners. Romantic and vintage-inspired.
• Emerald : Rectangular with step cut. Elegant, clear, and architectural.
• Asscher : Square variation of the emerald cut. Luxurious and geometric.
• Marquise : Tapered at both ends. Visually lengthens the hair.
• Pear : A combination of round and marquise. Feminine and striking.
• Heart : Symbol of love and individuality.

Symmetry & Polish
• Well-proportioned facets and flawless polish allow the light to travel optimally through the stone.
• Poor symmetry can impair the brilliance of even high-quality stones.

fluorescence
• Some diamonds glow under UV light. In some cases, strong fluorescence affects the appearance. We disclose this property transparently.

Certification
• Every certified diamond at Labgrownlove comes with an IGI certificate that documents all quality features.
• Certification creates trust and proves the authenticity of your diamond.

Origin: Lab-grown diamonds vs. natural diamonds
• Laboratory diamonds are physically and chemically identical to natural diamonds.
• The difference lies in the origin: sustainable, ethical and more attractively priced.
• Both variants offer brilliance, hardness and beauty at the highest level.
